REVIEW

ATTENTION
HERE AND NOW

In The Island, Huxley presents a vision of a society that values attention and living in the here and now as essential components of a fulfilling life.
Huxley believed that modern society, with its constant distractions and emphasis on materialism, undermines our ability to pay attention and live in the present. He saw this as a profound spiritual and psychological crisis, one that could only be addressed by reorienting our priorities.

The Island serves as a utopian counterpart to his more famous dystopian work, Brave New World.
